The Indiana Hoosiers pulled off their second upset in four days Sunday afternoon as IU knocked off No. 22 Ohio State, 72-64.

The Hoosiers were able to come away with a win even without their best player Noah Vonleh. Vonleh sat out the game with inflammation in his foot and was a scratch just hours before tipoff.

Vonleh has dealt with the issue off and on this season and has been seen around campus in a walking boot. Up until this point, it hasn’t cost him a game.

Yogi Ferrell led the Hoosiers with 20 points, but was just 5-for-14 from the field. He also dished out four assists.

Will Sheehey continued his outstanding play from the Iowa win. The senior had 19 points off an efficient 8-for-12 shooting. Sheehey came away with six rebounds and an impressive four steals.

The bench once again showed up for the Hoosiers, contributing 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and three blocks.

Evan Gordon led the charge with nine points, three steals, and three assists.

Hanner Mosquera-Perea might have had his best game in an IU uniform. He finished with eight points, five rebounds, and three blocks. Perea moved well without the ball and was particularly effective off the pick and roll.

IU managed to out-rebound the Buckeyes, despite not having Vonleh in the lineup. The Hoosiers won that battle 34-32, but missed his presence on the offensive glass. IU had just four offensive rebounds per game, a number that Vonleh can come away with on his own.

Indiana also caught a huge break with Ohio State going 14-for-23 from the free throw line. IU may have fouled a bit more often than normal, but the Buckeyes couldn’t capitalize on it.

The Hoosiers have a simple task in front of them: win out, and become a NCAA bubble team. IU hosts Nebraska this week and will be at No. 16 Michigan to close out the regular season. If Indiana wins those final two games, then they have to be in the NCAA Tournament discussion.

Its possible they will still be one of the first teams out, but they’ll at least garner consideration. IU will still have to win a game or two in the Big Ten Tournament to lock up a bid.
