The Indiana Pacers have been extremely excited about the upcoming season, but that excitement is completely gone now following the gruesome leg injury that Paul George suffered in tonight’s USA basketball team scrimmage. He was running back quickly to make a play on defense, and his leg completely gave away on him as he came down. It’s too early to say the extent of the injury, but this definitely looked worse than Kevin Ware’s injury last year.

It’s a terrible injury for the Pacers’ franchise, and could very well end up altering the future for them. George is a very hard worker with a big heart, but that type of injury is always extremely difficult to comeback from. The Pacers are going to have to consider making another move or two prior to the season in order to help replace George, as this injury definitely looked to be a season ender.

All of that being said, this is a very sad night for Pacers fans and NBA fans across the country. George is one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, and this type of injury is something that can completely change the future of a young player. Our prayers and thoughts are with George and his family as they are about to begin a very tough recovery.

Hopefully George will get good news from the doctors, or at least as good as the news can be. The injury was below the knee, which is a good sign, but it was still a very gruesome injury that could be worse or better than originally thought. There will be more information coming in the next couple of days on the injury, and hopefully George is able to make a full and complete recovery from this injury, and get back on the court to lead his Pacers.
