The Indiana Pacers were devastated by Paul George’s injury last night, and they knew immediately that they would be without their franchise player for this coming season. Not only were the Pacers concerned about George, but the entire NBA sent overwhelming support to both George and his family following the injury. Candace Bucker reported the latest update to George’s injury on Twitter.

There have been no confirmed reports on what the timetable for George’s return will be, but the chatter around the social media world is that it will end up being 6-9 months. He is an extremely hard worker and he is a very dedicated player. George took to Twitter to tell the rest of Pacers nation that he will be back better than ever, and it is at least a very good sign.

This is going to be a very difficult season for the Pacers to endure without their superstar, but it will be even more difficult for George. He had been working hard all offseason and was beginning to improve quickly by playing alongside Kevin Durant and James Harden. This is not the end of George’s career, but it could be more difficult to come back from than just the healing process.

Whenever this type of freak injury happens, it is always extremely difficult for the player to get mentally ready to play again. The Pacers will back George through his recovery, and there is no denying that the entire NBA will be supporting him as well. It’s going to be extremely interesting to see what the team does without George this season, but the Pacers will likely have George back on the court before next season.
