Chandler Harnish is a talented quarterback with the Indianapolis Colts, and has been working behind both Andrew Luck and Matt Hasselbeck as he continues to learn the NFL game. He is a second-year player out of Northern Illinois, and has the potential to be Luck’s primary backup quarterback when Hasselbeck leaves town. The Colts believe that Harnish has the potential for the future, and they plan to keep him on the roster for the foreseeable future at this point in time.

InkOnIndy.com’s own Evan Massey was able to get in contact with Harnish for an exclusive interview. We are very excited to bring this interview to you, and we hope that you enjoy reading it. Make sure to share it with your friends and fellow fans!

Q. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview Chandler, how are you doing today?

A. Very well thank you, it was our day off.

Q. What does the team look like so far in camp? How do you feel about the upcoming season?

A. The team looks great. A lot of young talent mixed with great veteran leadership. We are definitely heading down the right path.

Q. What has it been like for you learning from both Andrew Luck and Matt Hasselbeck?

A. Great experience. Both of those guys bring a multitude of knowledge to the game and Matt brings the years of experience. Couldn’t imagine two better QB teammates.

Q. What’s the best thing about backing up the best young QB in football?

A. The opportunity to learn and create great relationships that will last a lifetime.

Q. Where do you see yourself in three years?

A. Either as a backup role to Andrew with the Colts or starting for another team. Either way, I will have an opportunity to prove my stock. Just have to be ready for it.

Q. Who would you say your closest friends on the team are? Are you close with another other players outside of the Colts?

A. The QB’s are very close but I’m also extremely close with Joe Reitz, Matt Overton, Colt Anderson, and Pat McAfee. I do know many players throughout the league and are very close to them as well. It’s a fraternity of people for sure.

Q. Where do you see the Colts going this year if you had to give a prediction?

A. Winning the Super Bowl, no doubt. That’s why we play this game. Anything else is not living up to our goals.

Q. What do you enjoy doing in your free time off the field?

A. Hanging with friends and family, golf, eating, many naps, and laying by the pool.

Q. How long have you been playing football? When did you realize that you had NFL talent?

A. I have been playing since probably the second grade. I realized I had the talent during my junior year in college.

Q. Anything that you’d like to say to Colts nation in closing?

A. Just thank you so much for the support and get ready for another great season!
