The Indiana Pacers’ entire 2014-15 campaign changed suddenly on August 1st when superstar Paul George broke his leg while playing in Team USA’s scrimmage game. They have ruled him out for the entire season, but they are confident that he will come back and pick up where he left off. George will speak to the media for the first time since the injury today at 2 PM.

George’s press conference will be held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, and there will be quite a few reporters attending.

Despite the social media acknowledgement by George about being well, he still needs to come out in public and make some comments about the injury. The fans want to hear from him, and it is important that he shows himself to the public and shows confidence. Indiana fans were devastated to hear about the injury, but seeing George back in the Fieldhouse with confidence will be a very good thing for them.

Last season with the Pacers, George showed major improvement in literally every single category. He ended up averaging 21.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists, as well as playing excellent defense and averaging 1.9 steals per game. George has been one of the best up-and-coming stars in the game, and has been highly touted for his defensive ability to go along with his improving offense.

All of that being said, this is going to be a very good thing for George and the Pacers’ organization. Injuries to superstars don’t happen very often, but when they do it is important to give the player as much confidence as he can get. Being out in the public with media attention again will be a good thing for George, and it will give fans a chance to calm down.

Overall, it’s going to be good to hear from George publicly following the gruesome injury that everyone witnessed. Simply hearing him in person is going to be a nerve calming event for the entire Pacers’ fan base. It will be interesting to hear some of the things that George has been told and exactly what the entire process of rehabbing his knee will be.
