Earlier this week, Broncos’ cornerback Chris Harris (who has face both the Colts and Seahawks this season) released a statement, saying that Russell Wilson was better than Andrew Luck.

Per CBS4’s Vic Lombardi, Harris stated:

"“Keep talking up Andrew Luck. Russell Wilson is better than Luck. No question.”"

But is Russell Wilson really better than Andrew Luck?

There are several facts that support both sides. An argument could easily be made that Wilson is the better quarterback and that starts with a Super Bowl Ring. Wilson has led his team to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons and has recorded at least one win in each of those playoff series. Then last year, he led his team (supported by a crazy-good defense) to a Super Bowl title over the record-setting Denver Broncos. Wilson wasn’t the whole offense, but he orchestrated a beautiful playoff run that culminated in the ultimate goal. He’s as good a game-manager as there is in the NFL and is a big dual-threat quarterback in the option game.

And then there’s Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft (Wilson was 75). He was touted as the greatest quarterback product since his predecessor, Peyton Manning, and has lived up to the hype. He set tons of rookie passing records in his first season while taking the NFL by storm with his unique style of play. In each of his first two seasons, Luck has amassed more passing yards than Wilson and has become the focal point of his offense. The cast around him has been good with emerging wideout T.Y. Hilton and stud All-Pro Reggie Wayne.

But who’s better?

Right now, even as a Colts fan who thinks that luck is the greatest thing since sliced bread, I have to give Russell Wilson some credit for where he is. Wilson’s been supported by a great running game and a good defense to boot, but he’s been able to perform very well as a third-round quarterback. His height hasn’t been an issue and he is extremely efficient and smart with the football. His 101.4 Quarterback Rating is astounding for a third-year quarterback and he’s just getting better. Luck is getting better and is still a dang good quarterback. However, Luck still makes too many questionable decisions when under duress. I do believe that Luck will be the better player down the line. Wilson’s game will get sniffed out and planned against while Luck’s is ever-evolving.

Short answer: Russell Wilson is better right now, but Andrew Luck will have a better career
