The Indianapolis Colts came into this afternoon’s game against the Tennessee Titans trying to even up their record and get back to .500, and they were able to do just that with a dominant 41-17 win. There were times where it appeared that the Titans had a chance to get back in the game, but they were unable to make the plays to start the second half. Not having Jake Locker at quarterback hurt Tennessee a lot, but their defense was unable to play with the Colts’ high-powered offense.

Andrew Luck led the way for Indianapolis with 393 yards and four touchdowns. He did throw an interception, but more than made up for that one mistake. Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw came through with solid games once again on the ground, with 40 and 32 yards respectively while Richardson also scored his first touchdown of the season. Reggie Wayne had a big game receiving for the Colts, with seven receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown, while Dwayne Allen, Coby Fleener, and Ahmad Bradshaw all caught touchdown passes as well.

Charlie Whitehurst started in place of the injured Locker, and threw for 177 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He played very well considering the circumstances, but was unable to provide consistency throughout the first half especially. One bright spot for the Titans was the play of rookie running back Bishop Sankey, who came in and picked up 34 yards and a touchdown on the ground and 23 yards through the air. Delanie Walker also came through with a big game for Tennessee, catching five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Needless to say, this was a much needed game for the Colts to win and they were able to prove that last week wasn’t a fluke. Their offense has looked extremely potent over the last couple of weeks, and Pep Hamilton looks like he is improving as an offensive coordinator. Indianapolis is once again the favorite to win the AFC South, and they are back on track after a slow start.

Indianapolis will now look towards next Sunday’s home game against the Baltimore Ravens, who are coming off of a big 38-10 win over the Carolina Panthers this afternoon. The defense has been stepping up in a big way the last couple of weeks, but they will have to deal with a much more dangerous Ravens’ offense. Expect to see a very competitive game that comes down to the wire.
