Indianapolis, IN – The Indianapolis Colts have defeated the Baltimore Ravens by a final score of 20-13, despite doing nearly everything that they could to give the game away at the end. Indianapolis looked to be ready to seal the game with a field goal or touchdown, but an Ahmad Bradshaw fumble gave the Ravens life with just over a minute left in the game. After a few nice plays by the Ravens, cornerback Greg Toler was able to win the game with his coverage on Torrey Smith that led to the Ravens turning it over on downs.

Andrew Luck led the way once again for the Colts, throwing for 312 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. He may not have the best looking stat-line, but he did carry the football for a clutch 13-yard touchdown as well. Both Bradshaw and Trent Richardson had solid games in the win once again, with 15 carries for 68 yards and nine carries for 37 yards respectively. T.Y. Hilton caught nine passes for 90 yards to lead the way in receiving, with Reggie Wayne right behind him catching seven passes for 77 yards. Dwayne Allen caught four passes for 59 yards to go along with a touchdown.

Joe Flacco wasn’t able to get much going all game against the Colts’ defense, throwing for 235 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. The Ravens began playing better offensively towards the end of the game, but it was too little, too late. Justin Forsett led the way on the ground for Baltimore with 42 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Owen Daniels came through with a nice game for the Ravens with five catches for 70 yards.

All of that being said, it is a very encouraging sign for the Colts to see their defense play as well as it did. They have been dealing with a weak defense for the past few years, but that isn’t the case this year. Luck will lead the Colts’ offense and put up points, but having a defense that can force turnovers and hold opposing offenses to 13 points in a game is huge.

Indianapolis will now look ahead to Thursday night when they will face their division rival Houston Texans. The Colts are now sitting at 4-2 on the season, and are back in first place of the AFC South. Fans should be extremely excited about this performance moving forward, and the Colts are back on track to be playoff contenders after a bit of a rough start to the season.
