Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck thinks that he needs to get better following their win on Sunday.

Andrew Luck has been improving in a big way each and every game this season, and he is coming off of one of his best performances of his career against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. He threw for 370 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception in the game, but was upset with his fumble and interception. Despite his big performance, he talked about needing to get better in order to get his team where he wants them to be.

"“Yeah, a little bit. Yes. A fumble and an interception and we survived again. … Obviously we’re not going to survive it forever. It has to change. It starts with me. I’ve got to be better.”"

The Indianapolis Colts have not been disappointed with his performance at all this season, and he is currently one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He has thrown for 4,011 yards and 34 touchdowns on the season, but has thrown 11 interceptions as well. Those numbers are still very good, and the 11 interceptions compared to 34 touchdowns isn’t something to be ashamed of as a third-year player.

More from Ink on Indy

Offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton has been putting the football in Luck’s hands more than any other quarterback has been used this season. Luck is bound to throw more interceptions simply because of the volume of passes that he puts up in the air.

That being said, it is great to see Luck continuing to have the attitude that he displayed in that quote. He still wants to improve and become a better version of the superstar that he is already starting to be, and he isn’t willing to stop working for it. Luck’s attitude reminds a lot of fans in Indianapolis of Peyton Manning and the work ethic and frustration he showed after playing a game that most quarterbacks would love to play.

Luck has all of the talent in the world to grow even more as a quarterback and take yet another step forward. The Colts are legitimate contenders in the AFC this year, and they are going to be for quite some time as long as Luck is the franchise leader.

It’s going to be very intriguing to see how Luck continues to progress and develop throughout the rest of the season. He has been working hard all year long and is reaping the benefits, and he isn’t close to stopping. The Colts are lucky to have moved on from Manning to a player like Luck that takes the same amount of pride in his game.

Indianapolis will need Luck to come through with a big game this coming week against the Cleveland Browns on the road. He is always prepared, and fans should be expecting a big game from him.
