102. 77. 100. 100. Final

Los Angeles, CA – The Indiana Pacers fought hard tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers on the road, but came up just short by a final score of 102-100. It has become normal to see Indiana compete with the best teams in the NBA, but they simply don’t have the go-to players at the end of the game to seal wins. Obviously these losses have been disappointing, but they are still keeping the fans interested and the city of Indianapolis loves the effort they have seen.

Both teams fought hard all the way through the game to the final buzzer, and the Pacers looked like they could pull the game out late in the fourth quarter when they jumped in front of the Clippers. Unfortunately, that was not to be the case as the Clippers came back to put a run together and finished out the win.

C.J. Miles came off the bench to put up another impressive game for the Pacers, scoring 17 points on 6-14 shooting. It has been very encouraging to see him get back to shooting the ball well, and he has been exactly the type of scorer that Indiana needed. David West also finished the game with 17 points, and rounded out a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Both Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Watson scored 12 points on the evening, while Lavoy Allen also scored 12 points to go along with 14 rebounds and three blocks. Allen has been playing excellent basketball since Ian Mahinmi went down with a torn plantar fascia. Luis Scola and Solomon Hill were the other double digit scorers on the night with 10 apiece.

Los Angeles was led by a huge game from power forward Blake Griffin, who ended up scoring 31 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Chris Paul scored 20 points to go along with nine assist, while J.J. Redick came through with 16 points and some big free throws down the stretch of the game. DeAndre Jordan recorded a monster double-double with 15 points and 23 rebounds, and Jamal Crawford came off the bench to score 10 points.

Indiana fell to 8-18 on the season, while the Clippers improved to 18-7 with the win. It was still a very encouraging game despite the loss, and the Pacers are definitely continuing to play better basketball as the season moves forward.

Now the Pacers will look forward to their next contest on the road against the Denver Nuggets at 9 PM.
