Final. 76. 73. 73. 100

Denver, CO – The Indiana Pacers were looking to get back on the winning track on the road against the Denver Nuggets this evening, but unfortunately were unable to get anything going. Once again, the Pacers put up a lot of effort and a hard-fought performance, but it wasn’t enough to get them over the hump. Despite the effort, the Pacers fell to Denver by a final score of 76-73.

Denver had been averaging 103.2 points per game this season, so obviously the defensive effort was there from the Pacers. Unfortunately, Indiana was unable to get any kind of offense going themselves.

David West led the way in scoring for the Pacers with 19 points, while also polishing off a nice double-double with 10 rebounds and five assists. He shot just 8-22 from the field, however, which is still a concern moving forward.

C.J. Miles once again put together a good performance, scoring 16 points off of the bench and hitting an impressive buzzer beat to end the first quarter. He has been a scoring threat since coming back and getting healthy, and is finally living up to the hype that he received after Indiana signed him this offseason. Solomon Hill was the only other double digit scorer in the game with 11 points.

Danillo Gallinari scored 19 points on the night to lead the Nuggets, and Ty Lawson put together a big game as well with 15 points and 10 assists. J.J. Hickson came off of the bench to round out the double figure scorers for the Nuggets with 10.

Obviously this is another tough loss for the Pacers and they took another step towards getting a high lottery pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. They simply haven’t been able to get on track despite being mostly healthy, and don’t look like a contender for a playoff spot. George Hill does appear to be getting close to a return as well, which could take them a step forward.

Now the Pacers will look ahead to their next game tomorrow night on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
