Indianapolis, IN – The Indiana Pacers have had a very inconsistent and rough season this year, but came away with a big 103-82 victory over the New York Knicks this evening. It isn’t necessarily a win to be proud of as the Knicks haven’t been a very good team this year either, but a win is still a win.

Following the win, the Pacers improved to 17-31 on the season. They don’t appear to have much of a chance at competing should they make the playoffs, and it might be in their best interests to trade a couple players and re-tool a bit around Paul George. That being said, they are still fighting and are coming away with some wins.

Rodney Stuckey scored 22 points for the second straight game to lead the Pacers, and shot 8-13 from the floor. Roy Hibbert also came through with a big performance. scoring 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds on the night. The Pacers need both of these guys to continue playing at a high level to have any chance at turning their season around.

Both Solomon Hill and David West scored 10 points to round out the double digit scorers for Indiana.

Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks in scoring with 18 points, but that was all he was able to do against the Pacers. He grabbed just one rebound and dished out one assist in addition to his scoring. Former Pacers big man Lou Amundson scored 17 points on the night as well. Tim Hardaay Jr. came off the bench to score 11 points in the loss to round out the double figure scorers for New York.

Needless to say, the Pacers are not going to give up on their goal of making the playoffs. Larry Bird needs to seriously consider making some moves prior to the trading deadline, but at 17-31 he likely won’t do anything too serious.

Next up for the Pacers is another home game, this time against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.
