After what was a close contest for most of the four quarters of play, the Indiana Pacers were able to hold off the New York Knicks, winning by a score of 92-86.

After losing to the Pacers last Wednesday night and being humiliated at home to the Sacramento Kings, the Knicks were seeking to turn things around by getting the win against a Pacers team that had looked to be streaking heading into the game.

92. 100. Final. 86. 27

That looked to be the case heading into halftime, as New York lead by a score of 43-38.

It remained close all the way up to the last two minutes of the quarter when Indiana’s chances to secure the victory appeared threatened.

The Pacers were up three with a minute and-a-half to go in the game. At that point, they played like a team ready to compete for the playoffs after widening the lead to seven with 23 seconds left to ultimately secure the victory.

Rodney Stuckey was the leading scorer of the game with 17 points, four assists and three rebounds.

With Saturday night’s win Indiana is now in the playoff hunt as they currently sit in the 7th seed of the Eastern Conference.

The Pacers are seeing the more favorable portion of their schedule for the first time this season, making any hopes of the team making the playoffs a little more promising.

There remains to be a lot of time between now and mid-April, but the way this team has played the past month goes to show that they can accomplish what many wrote them off for at the beginning of the season.

Looking to keep the streak alive, the Pacers take on the Orlando Magic in Indianapolis Tuesday night.
