After rallying from a 21-point deficit, the Indiana Pacers ultimately fell short to the Houston Rockets Monday night, losing 110-100 and marking the team’s sixth-straight loss.

After a vicious one-handed Solomon Hill dunk the Pacers were down two points with 1:16 left in the third-quarter, after previously trailing by as much as 21.

The Rockets dominated the game for the majority of the night, with James Harden tallying another 40-point game (44 points) as he makes a strong case for the league’s most valuable player award.

For Indiana, George Hill and C.J. Watson lead the team in scoring as they each put up 20 points in the loss.

The loss puts the team at a 30-40 record after previously sitting at 30-34 and the sixth-straight loss for the squad.

Not good stuff…

At this rate the Pacers would miss out on their season-long goal of making the playoffs, and would instead be playing for the lottery.

But as I previously wrote, that may not be the worst thing that could happen to this team.

The loss currently puts the Pacers at the 10th-seed of the Eastern Conference behind the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets.

With twelve games of regular-season action remaining, the Pacers’ season is teetering in-between the playoffs and the lottery.

The Pacers will look to get their first win in two weeks Wednesday night when they travel to Washington to take on John Wall and the Washington Wizards.
