The Indiana Pacers defeated the Washington Wizards 103-101 in a thriller Wednesday night, snapping the team’s six-game skid.

You have to love how George Hill has played through the course of the season.

He’s played much more aggressive after taking a great deal of criticism last season due to inconsistency and often times failing to show up in some games.

Without Hill, the Pacers would be much, much worse than their current 31-40 record and would be completely out of the playoff hunt.

You can thank Hill for the Pacer’s win tonight. A game in which they didn’t completely deserve to win, as they left seven points on the board because they couldn’t hit a free-throw for the majority of the fourth quarter.

Hill had 29 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in the victory.

But perhaps his more impressive feat of the game came on this lay up which gave the Pacers the lead with 2.7 seconds left and ultimately secured the win for the team:

The Pacers appeared to be in good shape as they lead by three.

That is, until John Wall made a deep 3-point attempt with 11.2 seconds remaining, looking to get the game ready for overtime.

But George Hill wasn’t having any of that and thankfully for Indiana, he saved their season with a game-winning shot, once again.

For Indiana, the win ends a six-game skid and keeps the team’s hopes of playing in the post-season alive, only trailing Boston for the eighth-seed by half of a game.

Things continue to get harder and harder for the Wizards. The loss now marks the team’s fourth-straight, and a loss for a team looking to get things on track after being embarrassed by the Golden State Warriors 107-76 Monday night.

The Pacers still have a few things that need to be sorted out in the few weeks that remain of the regular-season. But nonetheless, the victory gives the team some much-needed energy and motivation to finish out their season with a less-than favorable remaining schedule.

The Pacers travel to Milwaukee Thursday night as they take on the Bucks, whom are also fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive.
