On Thursday, I had the privilege to speak with one of the newly signed Indiana Pacers, Glenn Robinson III.

Glenn Robinson III is 21-years old, the son of an Indiana high school legend Glenn “The Big Dog” Robinson, and was a starter on the 2013 Michigan Wolverines team who finished eventually lost to Louisville in the NCAA Championship Game. He was kind enough to set aside some time for me while en route to a UM alumni function in Chicago.

It’s been one month since he signed with the Indiana Pacers on a 3-year deal worth I asked him what the past month has been like since he joined the team.

“Its been great,” said Robinson, “I’m happy to be back home in Indiana.” He continued, “Its a dream come true, I’m getting to play one-on-one with Paul [George] everyday, which is great and I’m happy to be playing for such a great team and play  a high-class organization.”

Paul George has become the leader of the team following the departure of David West and Roy Hibbert and it seems he has bonded quickly with Glenn Robinson. I asked him if he too has taken part of Paul’s traditional team-building exercise/fishing trips.

“We actually went fishing the other day,” He said. “I caught 4 or 5 bluegill and Paul reeled in a couple bass. It was fun.”

In high school, Glenn Robinson III was known for getting up at 5:30 AM everyday to go in to school early and put up between 500 and 600 shots before class. I asked him if he still maintained that regimen today.

“Well, I don’t get up at 5:30 anymore,” he laughed. “Because of my schedule and the class time in college, I but I still work on my shooting. I get up a few hundred each day.”
