Pacers announce dates for Hickory Uniforms

The Indiana Pacers have today announced the six home and four away games they will be showing their newest concept – the Hickory jerseys based on the film “Hoosiers.”

The past couple of seasons were different for the Pacers in terms of the jerseys they sported. Paul George was public about his team getting new jerseys, and two years ago the “Pinstripes” became popular and were willingly brought up to the delight of George and his teammates, though David West always looked best in them. Sorry PG.

The “Pinstripes” were great too, but who could deny the power of the “Flo-Jos” unis that the Pacers went 7-1 in last season and drove them to their late season playoff push? I’m still convinced that the power of the Flo-Jos barely failed them against Memphis at the end of the year and that they should push with them again along with their newest creation.

However, the spotlight is now on the introduction of the “Hickory” jerseys based on the Hoosiers concept, which will be the go-to speciality jersey of the year for Indiana.

The Pacers have announced the following home dates for when they will sport the Red and Gold:
-November 6 v. Miami
-December 23 v. Sacramento
-January 26 v. LA Clippers
-February 24 v. New York
-March 15 v. Boston
-April 10 v. Brooklyn

I love the jerseys and can’t wait for them, as well as the games chosen to sport them in. Miami makes sense because even though the two are far from the peaks they had reached just two years back, the rivalry is still somewhat existent and I still feel as if I’ll hear the classic “Beat the Heat” on the streets of Indianapolis when leaving BLF again this season.

When the Clippers come to town it’s an added chance to show Lance Stephenson what he’s missing out on this year after his trade to Charlotte last season failed miserably for him and he was dealt out west, and New York makes sense as well because the Pacers will also always have a feud with them as well. Finally, the last two games, Boston and Brooklyn, are late season games where Indy’s push for the highest playoff seed possible is still very much alive (or so we hope).

The fans only have to wait around a week into the regular season to see what they will look like and although they won’t be showing them out in preseason, the Pacers open up with their first game coming against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, October 3rd.
