Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd has repeatedly stated Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Andrew Luck is one of the best talents in the NFL. Well, Cowherd recently guaranteed that Luck will be an MVP candidate in 2016.

Luck is coming off his worst season as an NFL quarterback. In seven games, he threw for 1,881 yards with 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The Colts had a 2-5 record in the games he played in.

Also, Luck got beat up a lot last season. The Colts’ offensive line struggled to consistently protect him, and Luck held onto the ball too long which opened him up to huge hits. As a result, he missed nine regular season games because of a shoulder injury and a lacerated kidney.

Even though everyone remembers Luck’s terrible 2015 season, Cowherd still confidently made this guarantee about him.

"“And my number five guarantee is Andrew Luck is going to be an MVP candidate. It will probably be Cam [Newton], Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck. And I am shocked at those who doubt it. You are talking about a kid with tremendous talent, tremendous mobility, tremendous size, very good arm, super-high IQ, and an alarming self-awareness… Andrew Luck is going to have a monster year for the Colts.”"

This guarantee should not really shock anyone. Remember, Cowherd passionately defended Luck on his radio show last year when the Colts started 0-2. In fact, he called people who were attacking Luck “dumb”.

Cowherd briefly mentioned Luck’s two flaws in 2015: interceptions and holding onto the ball too long. However, he believes Luck will lower his interception total and be better at getting rid of the ball faster in 2016. As a result, he will have a MVP-like season.

There plenty of signs suggesting Luck could have an excellent 2016 season. He recently said he was well-aware of his 2015 mistakes and took blame for those mistakes. The 2016 season could potentially be Luck’s redemption year.
