Everyone remembers the Indianapolis Colts blew a 23-9 fourth quarter lead with 7:04 left to the Houston Texans in Week 6. However, everyone forgot Texans’ Lamar Miller torched them that night too.

Texans’ quarterback Brock Osweiler stole headlines in that comeback win because he threw two touchdowns and led Houston to victory in overtime. His heroics overshadowed his teammate Miller’s unbelievable performance

Against the Colts, Lamar Miller ran for 149 rushing yards on 24 carries and one touchdown. He also had three catches for 29 receiving yards and another touchdown. In fact, one reception he made the entire Colts’ defense look really silly.

For those needing a reminder, here’s the play. Notice how Miller makes 10 Indianapolis defenders either miss a tackle or not touch him altogether?

More from Indianapolis Colts

It was fairly obvious Miller was the best Texans’ player that night, and he could be once again on Sunday. Indianapolis needs to stop him in order to be victorious.

Luckily, the Colts are coming off their best defensive performance of the season. They limited the New York Jets to only 36 yards on the ground. Unfortunately, the Texans are not as bad as the Jets though.

Indianapolis needs its defensive line to create penetration into the backfield. As a result, they can make plays or the inside linebackers will be able to.

Speaking of inside linebackers, that could be an area of concern for Indianapolis. Remember, D’Qwell Jackson is suspended for the final four games of the season.

As a result, the inexperienced trio of Edwin JacksonJosh McNary and Antonio Morrison will be asked to fill the void. The Texans will probably try to take advantage of that weakness.

The Colts need at least two of those guys to show up and make solid tackles in the trenches. Miller is a shifty back (that video is evidence). All three linebackers need to be technically sound in order to get Miller on the ground.

The Texans have a lot of weapons, but their best strategy is giving Miller touches. Indianapolis needs to stop Miller and force Osweiler to beat them down the field.

Miller is one of the better backs in the NFL so stopping him will not be easy. However, the Colts must find a way to do this, or the Texans will be in control of the AFC South division at Week 14’s end.
