The Indianapolis Colts have seven draft picks in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft. Even though the event is two months away, it is never too early to start projecting who the team will take.

The Colts will have at least one pick in the first six rounds of the draft. They traded their seventh round pick last year for defensive lineman Billy Winn. They will received a compensatory fourth round pick when tight end Coby Fleener left them last offseason.

The Colts do not know where they are specifically drafting yet. They finished the season with same record as the Minnesota Vikings and need a coin flip to settle the tiebreaker. That coin flip will occur during the NFL combine.

Indianapolis has plenty of roster needs they need to address. However, the overwhelming majority of the concerns reside on the defensive side of the ball. It is likely they will address most of those needs in the draft.

The Colts replaced general manager Ryan Grigson with Chris Ballard for numerous reasons. One of the key reasons was Ballard specializes in identifying talent in the draft. Ballard’s draft prowess will immediately be put to the test in 2017.

With that in mind, let’s get right into this version of the Colts’ mock draft. With their first round pick, Indianapolis will address a position need they have ignored for the past two seasons.
