Purdue was routed in its season opener against Cincinnati, 42-7.
It was a rough outing in Darrell Hazell’s debut at head coach and the Boilermakers were unable to get anything going on either side of the ball.
Quarterback Rob Henry was disappointing 18-for-35 for 161 yards. He also threw two interceptions. Henry did scramble for Purdue’s lone touchdown of the day.
Overall, the Purdue offense managed only 226 yards and turned the ball over four times.
Defensively, the Boilermakers gave up 425 yards, including 221 yards rushing. The only highlight on defense being two interceptions.
