The former first-rounder has finally found his groove in the Indianapolis Colts offense, and it will pay dividends in 2014.

Reports coming out of training camp say that Richardson is looking good and is more fluid in the offense. While he is widely being considered a bust, Richardson still possesses the skills that merited his third-overall selection in the 2012 Draft.

Richardson ran well in his first season in Cleveland, but wasn’t quite at that 1,200 mark (failing to even break 1,000 yards).

But everything changes this year with Richardson’s higher level of comfort in the offense. After an injury to Vick Ballard and the running back core looking as shaky as ever, Richardson’s leash is extremely long. Even if he doesn’t perform well in his first few games, the Colts don’t have much choice but to let the third-year player loose.

And who knows? With a leash as long as his and a found comfort in the offense, the Trent Richardson that rocked the SEC in college may make a rebirth.
