3. Hakeem Nicks, Wide Receiver

Nicks was signed by the Colts this past offseason to help take some pressure off of veteran Reggie Wayne, and he showed exactly what he is capable of against the New York Giants in the preseason. The Colts believe that he will be able to make some big plays for them, but he will mainly be a possession receiver this season. Denver is going to have a very difficult time matching up with the type of strength and speed that Nicks combines.

Luck already seemed to have a good chemistry with Nicks, and he hasn’t had a receiver with the size and skill that Nicks possesses. He is one of the more underrated receivers in the AFC, and could be among the conference leaders in receptions this year. Denver does have a decent secondary, but Nicks’ route-running and strength will separate him from any defender that tries to stick with him.

Indianapolis is going to have a majorly pass heavy offensive scheme with the way that Trent Richardson struggled through the preseason, and Luck will be targeting Nicks quite often. He will be a possession wide receiver and pick up normal yardage, but will also break a big play or two due to his ability to pick up extra yardage after contact. Nicks is going to have a big game, and you should make sure to plug him into your lineup as a starter.
