The current Ray Rice situation that is going on in the NFL has been absolutely stunning as more news and lies being exposed are coming out. Commissioner Roger Goodell appears to be caught between a rock and a hard place so to speak, but there are some that are still supporting Rice through this situation. One of those people seems to be Indiana Pacers’ superstar Paul George, who tweeted out those controversial tweet earlier today.
George isn’t saying that he believes Rice should be allowed to walk away clean after knocking out his fiance and now wife, but he is saying that it should be let go with Janay Rice’s public comments about the issue being partially her fault. His comments about her hitting him are true, as Rice was show in the video being pushed by his fiance, but that in no way should allow the type of brutal punch that it took to knock her out.
Granted, Rice made a bad decision and is paying the consequences for that bad decision. It will be intriguing to see what the outcome of this entire situation is, but George’s tweet has already been taken badly and he is receiving quite a bit of backlash. Maybe next time it would be wise to stay out of this conversation until things have calmed down. Either way, George does make a good point, but it just wan’t the right timing for the tweet.
