The Indianapolis Colts are looking to even their record at 2-2 this afternoon against the Tennessee Titans, and they have a 20-10 lead heading into halftime. They have been dominating this game for the most part, but an interception thrown deep in Colts’ territory by Andrew Luck allowed the Titans to score a touchdown and get back in the game. Both teams have been playing a tough game, but it is obvious that the Colts have more talent.

Tennessee is having to play this game without their starting quarterback Jake Locker, but his backup Charlie Whitehurts is performing very well for making the fifth start in his nine year NFL career. Indianapolis will need to come out strong in the second half to stop any comeback attempt that the Titans have thoughts about, and they need their defense to get more pressure on Whitehurst. Those two things are going to be key for the Colts if they want to come away with a win.

Luck completed 17 of his 27 passing attempts in the first half for 218 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Those numbers aren’t too bad, but the interception allowed the Titans to score an easy touchdown just before the half. Ahmad Bradshaw is leading the way in rushing for the Colts with seven carries for 21 yards, while Trent Richardson has picked up 20 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. T.Y. Hilton has come through with a big game receiving for the Colts, catching five passes for 95 yards, while Dwayne Allen has a touchdown reception from Luck.

Whitehurst has had a solid game for the Titans with 118 yards and a touchdown, but he has thrown an interception as well. He hasn’t had much playing time throughout his NFL career, and turnovers are something that happen when players don’t play too often. Tennessee’s rushing attack hasn’t been very good either, with Whitehurst leading the way in that category as well with 25 yards on two attempts. Tight end Delanie Walker has come through for the passing game with four catches for 73 yards, including a very tough touchdown catch.

It should be a very intriguing second half to watch, but the Colts are without a doubt the better football team. Tennessee has absolutely nothing to lose, and that could be a dangerous situation for Indianapolis. That being said, Luck and company need to come out strong and with a fire underneath them, and finish this game off early in the second half.
