The Colts have one heck of an offense, don’t they?

Andrew Luck’s Colts showed how dominant they really can be by posting their second consecutive 40+ point game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Luck completed passes to nine different receivers on the day, finding everyone wide open down the field and in dumpoffs too. Luck loved his wideouts as Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton led the Colts with seven and six catches respectively while combining for 224 yards out of Luck’s total 393. Behind the two leading wideouts, Luck uses his running backs in dumpoffs and swing plays while also finding his tight ends in intermediate coverage.

The bottom line: covering everyone is nearly impossible.

As long as Luck keeps his decision making in top performance, he truly is a top quarterback in the league. In this game against Tennessee, he posted a 123.3 QBR and, other than a bad interception, Luck looked really good. He’s not having to scramble around in the pocket any more due to great offensive line play and he always is looking to make the big play before settling on a more efficient shorter throw.

While Luck’s throwing has been spectacular, the ground game has to get a bit of credit for the success of this offense. Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw have each been special to this Colts team in their own way. While Richardson’s mediocre 2.4 YPC against Tennessee didn’t stand out, he was able to collect four catches for 52 yards while also bullying his way in for his first touchdown of the year. He’s been under a lot of scrutiny in the past, but he’s shown the ability to still be a starting running back in the league with his play. Supporting Richardson is Ahmad Bradshaw, who is performing really well in the backup role while excelling in red zone offense. Against Tennessee, Bradshaw found his fourth receiving touchdown of the year, an amazing feat for a running back.

The receivers and backs have been good, but there needs to be a little bit of love towards the tight ends in this Colts offense. Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener are often overlooked due to their high-profile counterparts, but both have been quietly productive for the Colts this season. Allen has 145 yards and three touchdowns while Fleener has 109 and two scores. Other than a few key Fleener drops, this tight end duo has been extremely solid for the Colts and the pair make good red zone targets for Luck.

This offense is going up and it’s impossible to gameplan against them. When the run game is bottled, Luck airs it out; when Hilton has double coverage, Wayne comes up with a huge play. Cover every receiver in the red zone, and Ahmad Bradshaw will make you pay with a touchdown catch.

Hear it now: the Colts are the team to beat in the AFC right now.
