Indianapolis Colts’ Top 3 Performances From Win vs. Tennessee Titans

The Indianapolis Colts maybe didn’t have the opening quarter to the season that they wanted, starting that stretch 0-2 against two very good opponents in the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles. However, they’ve rebounded well and have beaten two AFC South counterparts which they were expected to take down to even their record at 2-2.

And, man, they certainly feasted on the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans. After beating the Jags 44-17 just over a week ago, the Colts then took it to the Titans, winning 41-17. Their defense has looked great, and the offense even better.

Just like last week against the Jaguars, I give you the top three Colts performances who contributed to the win:

3. SS Mike Adams

The Colts forced three turnovers against the Titans, and two of them were taken by the 11th-year veteran safety, Adams. He was able to pick off Charlie Whitehurst once early in the second quarter as the Colts were building a two-score lead. Later in the game, he intercepted rookie Zach Mettenberger in his limited action. With LaRon Landry now suspended for four games, the Colts will need Adams to keep being in the right place at the right time like he was Sunday.

2. QB Andrew Luck

With numbers like 29-of-41 passing for 393 yards, four TDs and one INT, you might be surprised to see Mr. Luck not at the top of this list for the second-straight week. However, don’t let that fool you from how phenomenal he’s been the past two games. He’s the only QB in NFL history now to have back-to-back games with at least 370 yards, four or more TDs and complete at least 70 percent of his passes all while throwing one or no interceptions. While that’s a little obscure, you can credit Mike & Mike in the Morning for that little nugget. Luck is playing extremely well to start this year.

1. WR Reggie Wayne

Yes, Wayne gets the top spot this week because we can finally say it: he’s back. Tearing an ACL so late into a career, you just never know if the player is going to respond like the younger guys and be able to play at a high level again. Wayne put any such notion to rest Sunday, racking up seven catches for a spry 119 yards, and added a touchdown on a beautiful back-shoulder throw from Luck as well. Seeing him put up numbers like those have to have a lot of Colts fans in smiles right now.
