Boston, MA – The Indiana Pacers were trying to stop a four-game losing skid this evening in Boston against the Celtics, but that didn’t happen and the streak rose to five losses. It was a close game once again, but the Pacers were unable to execute down the stretch and ended up falling to the Celtics 101-98. They had a chance to tie the game with two seconds left, but Solomon Hill threw away the inbound pass.

Needless to say, it was a very depressing loss for the Pacers to take as they once again were very much in the game until the final whistle. They are playing extremely short-handed and they just don’t seem to have enough to finish games off. It’s good to see that they are still fighting despite the injury issues, but at 1-5 they simply aren’t looking like they can stay afloat without their injured players.

Roy Hibbert did his best to lead the way for the Pacers, scoring 22 points on 8-16 shooting, and also grabbing 11 rebounds and blocking four shots. Chris Copeland came through with yet another nice game on the offensive end of the floor, scoring 17 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. Donald Sloan backed up his 31-point performance in Washington with a 15-point game tonight.

Lavoy Allen once again came through with a good game off the bench, scoring 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds as well. Solomon Hill and Luis Scola were the other double digit scorers on the night for Indiana with 12 and 11 points respectively. A.J. Price made his season debut with the Pacers after being signed yesterday, and scored five points to go with four assists.

Jared Sullinger led the way for the Celtics with 17 points, while Jeff Green put up 15 of his own on the board. Kelly Olynyk scored 12 points, while Avery Bradley and Brandon Bass rounded out the double figure scorers with 11 and 10 respectively.

Indiana will look ahead to their next game tomorrow night against the Washington Wizards, and try to snap their losing streak.
