Dallas, TX – The Indiana Pacers were not expected to have a chance at defeating the Dallas Mavericks on the road tonight after Roy Hibbert was ruled out due to a sprained ankle. Despite missing all of the starters that played against the Mavericks last season, the Pacers were able to pull out a 111-100 win. No one would have thought that the Pacers would score 111 points, but they came out to prove a point.

Needless to say, this was a big win for the Pacers as they moved to 6-8 on the year and won yet another big game while waiting on their best players to get healthy. These wins are huge for the Pacers’ playoff chances moving forward, and they are speaking volumes about the talent that Indiana will have coming off of their bench when everyone is healthy.

Donald Sloan was the main leader for the Pacers on the evening, scoring 29 points on 10-14 shooting and 3-5 from behind the three-point arc. He also dished out five assists and was a huge leader for the Pacers.

Luis Scola had a nice game for the Pacers as well, scoring 14 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Both Rodney Stuckey and Solomon Hill scored 12 points each, and both Chris Copeland and Damjan Rudez came off the bench to score 11 points each. The Pacers’ only other double digit scorer was Ian Mahinmi, who scored 10 points to go along with seven rebounds and a huge block late in the game.

Monta Ellis and Dirk Nowitzki were the leaders for the Mavericks, scoring 24 and 22 points respectively on the night. Chandler Parsons scored 16 points, while Brandan Wright came off of the bench to score 13 points. Jameer Nelson was the only other double figure scorer for the Mavericks with 10 points.

Indiana is very excited about this win, and rightfully so. They are going to have to face the San Antonio Spurs next, which is going to be a very difficult game even if the Pacers get Hibbert back.

Now the Pacers will look ahead to Wednesday night against the Spurs and will try once again to come up with a huge statement win.
