C.J. Watson, David West Set To Make Season Debuts
By Evan Massey
The Indiana Pacers are set to welcome both David West and C.J. Watson back to the rotation tonight against Orlando.
David West and C.J. Watson have not played in a regular season game yet this season, but they are both set to make their debuts tonight against the Orlando Magic, according to head coach Frank Vogel.
Indiana has been playing extremely short-handed so far this year, but they’re getting two of their key contributors back. West is without a doubt the Pacers’ leader both vocally and emotionally, and is one of their best offensive options as well. Watson on the other hand brings energy and scoring off of the bench, and will be a welcome addition himself.
Unfortunately, the Pacers were forced to waive former backup point guard A.J. Price after his second 10-day contract expired.

Despite the loss of Price, the Pacers are going to be a much better team moving forward with these two guys back on the court. The Pacers’ main issue so far this season has been the lack of offensive consistency, and both West and Watson are able to bring scoring to the court. There aren’t many opposing power forwards that have been able to lock down West in the past.
Vogel is going to have a much easier time moving forward with his rotations, but he will also have some decisions to make. Lavoy Allen has played excellent basketball since West has been out, but now the minutes will be fewer with Luis Scola also playing the power forward position. Both players deserve playing time and both players have different skills, but can Vogel find room for both players?
It will be very interesting to see what ends up happening with the rotation, but the Pacers are very happy to be welcoming these two players back to the court. Indiana still believes that they have a good chance of making the playoffs, and getting healthy at this point in the season is huge for them. Tonight will be a fun game to get them back on the court, and hopefully they’ll get back on the winning track against Orlando.
