Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Cavaliers came out to prove a point against the Indiana Pacers this evening, and they were able to do just that. They got off to a very fast start in both the first and the third quarters, and coasted the rest of the way with the leads that they built up in those two quarters in particular.

Indiana tried to make a run a few different times throughout the game, but they simply weren’t able to come back all the way. Roy Hibbert was forced to sit out with his ankle injury once again, and not having his defensive presence at the rim was very noticeable. That being said, the Pacers simply didn’t get back in transition and their defense was mediocre to say the very best.

David West led the Pacers in scoring this evening with just 14 points on 7-16 shooting, and also grabbed six rebounds as well. Solomon Hill scored 13 points on the night, and had his hands full dealing with LeBron James on the defensive end of the court. Chris Copeland came off of the bench to score 11 points, while also dishing out four assists.

Both Luis Scola and Lavoy Allen scored 10 points each to round out the double digit scorer for the Pacers. Allen also grabbed eight rebounds on the evening.

Cleveland saw Kevin Love have a major breakout performance, scoring 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds to round out the double-double. Kyrie Irving scored 24 points on the night and grabbed 10 rebounds himself, while LeBron James scored 19 points and dished out seven assists. Needless to say, the big three was able to lead the way and get the job done this evening.

Following the loss, the Pacers move to 7-10 and take another step backwards in their fight to make the Eastern Conference playoffs. It will be very intriguing to see what they are able to do the remainder of the way, but they’ll need to figure out how to contend with teams like the Cavaliers in order to get to where they want to be.

Now the Pacers will look forward to their next game against the Phoenix Suns on the road Tuesday night. It’s going to be a very tough game for them, but it gives them a chance to get revenge from last week.
