Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Suns were able to sweep the season series against the Indiana Pacers with a 116-99 win this evening. Indiana simply wasn’t able to come all the way back after a slow start, but they showed a lot of fight and they can’t hang their heads following this performance. Following this loss, the Pacers are now 7-11 and are on a two-game losing streak.

Despite losing this game, there were some positives that could be seen throughout the evening. The play of C.J. Watson and C.J. Miles was nice to say the least, and they also received a nice performance from Roy Hibbert in his return from a sprained ankle. Indiana isn’t going to be a team that can compete in the playoffs against the better teams in the Eastern Conference, but they could cause some problems.

Miles led the way for the Pacers in scoring, coming off of the bench to score 17 points on 6-9 shooting. He has been struggling all season long, so seeing him get back on track was certainly a good sign. Hibbert finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds on the night, while shooting 6-14 from the floor himself.

Watson had a very nice game off of the bench for the Pacers as well, putting up 14 points to go along with seven assists. Both Chris Copeland and David West scored 10 points apiece to round out the double digit scorers for the Pacers.

Goran Dragic came through with a monster performance for the Suns with 34 points on 11-15 shooting including 5-6 from behind the three-point arc. It was obvious that he came out tonight to prove a point, and he made his point perfectly clear. Eric Bledsoe on the other hand also came through with a big performance, scoring 27 points to go along with seven assists and four steals on the night.

Needless to say, this was a disappointing loss for the Pacers after the way that they played in the first half. They stuck around for the majority of the game, but in the fourth quarter Phoenix kicked themselves into a new gear.

Indiana will now look ahead to their next game on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.
