Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen appears ready to return to action vs. the Cleveland Browns.

The Indianapolis Colts have been forced to play without their starting tight end Dwayne Allen over the past couple of weeks, and they have missed him. Obviously he is one of the more underrated tight ends in the game, and is one of Andrew Luck’s favorite targets. He is coming back for a big game against a hungry team, and will be given a fairly large role immediately.

Through the 10 games that Allen has played with the Colts this season, he has caught 26 passes for 374 yards and seven touchdowns. He has been a huge piece for the Colts in the red zone, and is also a threat downfield as well.

Coby Fleener has done a solid job filling in for him while he was out, but Allen is simply a better all-around player. The Colts will welcome him back to the field with open arms, and will likely be using him quite a bit in the gameplan against Cleveland. He’s a matchup nightmare for nearly any defender as he has an excellent balance of speed and strength to go along with route running and above average hands.

It will be intriguing to see what type of impact he has in his return this week. He is coming back just in time for the Colts to make a run at one of the top two AFC seeds in the playoffs. Expect to see Luck target him early and often on Sunday.
