The Indiana Pacers came up short on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers 88-82.
Portland, OR – The Indiana Pacers fell to 7-12 on the season tonight with an 88-82 loss against the Portland Trail Blazers. It was a hard fought game all the way through, and the Pacers can’t hang their heads with the performance that they put up. They were just a few shots away from pulling off a huge win on the road, and that is something that they can take something from and work on it moving forward.
It will be intriguing to see how the Pacers play the Trail Blazers when the two teams meet up in Indianapolis later on this season. They are a very good match, and maybe George Hill will be back in the lineup to help bolster Indiana’s chances. Having Paul George out on the court likely would have made this game a very different story.

Rodney Stuckey led the way for the Pacers this evening with 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists on the night. Solomon Hill had a nice game as well for Indiana with 13 points to go along with eight rebounds on the evening. David West also scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the loss for the Pacers.
Luis Scola was the only other double figure scorer for Indiana with 10 point coming off of the bench.
Portland received a nice game from point guard Damian Lillard, who scored 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists. LaMarcus Aldridge also came through with a nice double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Nicolas Batum and Wesley Matthews were the other two double digit scorers on the night for the Blazers with 13 and 12 points respectively.
Indiana still has plenty to be happy about with the way that they performed against one of the top teams in the Western Conference. They are missing two of their key players and were still able to stick with Portland all the way down to the end.
Now the Pacers will look ahead to their next game against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
