Indiana Pacers Come Up Short To Kings In Overtime
By Evan Massey
The Indiana Pacers came up just short in overtime against the Sacramento Kings and fell to 7-13 on the season.
Sacramento, CA – The Indiana Pacers once again put up a very spirited fight against the Sacramento Kings on the road this evening, but once again they came up just short. They were able to battle all the way back to force overtime, but came up short on a last second putback finish by Carl Landry and fell 102-101. With the loss, the Pacers fall to 7-13 on the season, while the Kings move to 10-9 with the win.
It has become a normal thing to see the Pacers compete hard and come up short late in games. They simply don’t have their star closer in Paul George, and missing George Hill hasn’t been easy for them either. Frank Vogel has done an excellent job with the roster that he has had so far this year, and he has proven that he is worthy of sticking around in Indiana long-term.

David West led the Pacers in scoring this evening with 16 points on 6-16 shooting, but missed the last second attempt that would have won them the game. Both Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Watson came up big for Indiana as well, scoring 14 points each and playing big roles down the stretch in the fourth quarter and into overtime. Stuckey also stole the ball four times to go along with three rebounds and three assists.
Damjan Rudez once again came through with a solid performance with 11 points, while Luis Scola matched that with 11 points and eight rebounds of his own. Solomon Hill was the only other double figure scorer for the Pacers with 10 points on the night.
Rudy Gay came through with a huge performance for the Kings, scoring 27 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Darren Collison scored 20 points to go along with six rebounds, six assists, and four steals on the night. Carl Landry and Ben McLemore were the other double digit scorers for Sacramento with 14 and 12 points respectively.
When everything is said and done the Pacers still came away with the loss tonight. They fought hard and did everything they could down the stretch but they lost their fourth game in a row. Things need to change soon if they want to make the playoffs, and hopefully they’ll be getting Hill back in the near future.
Indiana will now look ahead to their next game on Monday night back at home against the Atlanta Hawks.
