IU Receives Commitment From Marqui Hawkins
Per multiple reports, Kevin Wilson and his staff have received a commitment from former UAB wide receiver, Marqui Hawkins. Hawkins, who hails originally from Columbus Georgia, had originally committed to play for Florida, and had received scholarship offers from half of the SEC, transferred to UAB following his freshman season with the gators.
At 6’2, Hawkins has some much-needed size that the Hoosiers lacked in their receiving corp this year, and the talented young wideout figures to be in the mix for playing time early and often with the Cream and Crimson.

A redshirt sophomore, Hawkins will have 3 years of eligibility remaining with the Hoosiers, and will be immediately eligible to play next season, per arrangements made by the NCAA after UAB president, Ray Watts, announced they were shutting down the football program due to budgetary concerns.
A 3-star recruit, and nationally ranked receiver (per Rivals.com) coming out of high school, this is a huge get for a Hoosier program that was desperate for size and depth at the wide receiver spot.
IU football looks to continue its recruiting momentum in the coming weeks, as they’ve hosted a slew of talented young recruits over the past two weeks. Stay tuned to InkOnIndy.com for future updates.
