Pacers Get Embarrassed By Pistons On The Road
By Evan Massey
The Indiana Pacers were embarrassed on the road by the Detroit Pistons by a final score of 119-109.
Detroit, MI – The Indiana Pacers fell to 10-20 on the season with a 119-109 loss on the road against the Detroit Pistons. That score shows exactly how badly the Pacers played on defense tonight, and they didn’t deserve to win. Detroit was playing its first game without Josh Smith after he was cut, and they played much better as a team and were playing with much more passion.
Unfortunately for the Pacers, they caught them on the first game back without Smith. Detroit hasn’t played that well all season long, and they improved to 6-23 on the season.
Roy Hibbert led the way for the Pacers with 19 points on the night, but he fouled out after playing just 23 minutes. He looked much more confident, but the foul issues have to stop for him to be as effective as he can be. Solomon Hill, C.J. Watson, and Luis Scola all scored 14 points each on the night.

George Hill came off of the bench once again tonight to score 13 points, including a nice third-quarter buzzer-beating three-point shot. Lavoy Allen was the only other double digit scorer for Indiana with 10 points, while Rodney Stuckey finished with nine points before leaving the game with a facial contusion and not returning.
Detroit was led by a huge performance from big man Andre Drummond, who scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds. Brandon Jennings also had a nice game with a 14-point and 10-assist double-double. D.J. Augustin came off the bench to score 14 points and dish out eight assists against his former team.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 15 points on the night, while Greg Monroe was able to put up 19 points and 15 rebounds. Jodie Meeks scored 13 points off of the bench, and Jonas Jerebko scored 10 points to round out the double figure scorers for Detroit.
Indiana will now look ahead to their next game tomorrow night against the Brooklyn Nets on the road. These are the types of losses that completely destroy their playoff hopes, and prove that they aren’t anything more than a high lottery team unless something changes.
Stuckey’s status for tomorrow night is in doubt, and Damjan Rudez has already been ruled out. The Pacers saw their five-game winning streak in Detroit snapped, and a new era of basketball has started for the Pistons.
