Oakland, CA – The Indiana Pacers were looking to crawl a step closer to evening their record back up, but were unable to do so on the road against the Golden State Warriors. Despite a hard fought game, the Pacers came up short and lost by a final score of 117-102.

Golden State holds the NBA’s best record so far this season, and moved to 28-5 on the year with the win. Indiana on the other hand fell to 14-23 with the loss, and finished up their western road trip with a 2-2 record. It was a tough loss to swallow, but the Pacers cannot hang their heads after being able to hang with the team with the best record in the league.

More from Ink on Indy

Solomon Hill led the way for the Pacers with a big game, scoring 21 points on the night. He shot 8-15 from the field, and it was just his second 20-point game of his young career. David West was the second leading scorer for Indiana with 16 points, and also grabbed seven rebounds and chipped in six assists.

Both Luis Scola and Donald Sloan had big games off of the bench for the Pacers with 14 points apiece. Scola added six rebounds in the losing effort, while Sloan had five rebounds and five assists as well. Lavoy Allen was forced to play extended minutes after Roy Hibbert went down with an ankle sprain, and responded with 12 points and nine rebounds.

As usual, the Warriors were lead by the “Splash Brothers” who combined for 61 points on the evening. Klay Thompson was their leading scorer with a monster performance of 40 points, and nailed 6-11 from behind the three-point arc. Stephen Curry on the other hand scored 21 points to go along with 15 assists.

Marreese Speights once again came through with a nice game for the Warriors with 18 points, while David Lee came off of the bench to round out the Warriors’ double digit scorers with 13 points.

Indiana isn’t happy with the loss tonight, but they can’t afford to dwell on it. They fought as hard as they could, and hung with a very talented basketball team.

Next up for the Pacers is a meeting with the Boston Celtics back home at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Friday night.
