Lavoy Allen: Pacers F Out Vs. Kings
By Evan Massey
Lavoy Allen will miss the Indiana Pacers game against the Sacramento Kings this evening due to right knee soreness.
The Indiana Pacers have been pleasantly surprised with the play of power forward Lavoy Allen, but he has fallen out of the rotation a bit ever since David West and Ian Mahinmi came back from injury.
Luis Scola sat out the Pacers’ game against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, which opened up some minutes for Allen. Unfortunately, he went down with right knee soreness and missed the remainder of the game. He was hoping to get back for tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings, but that will not be happening according to the Pacers’ official Twitter account.
Allen has played in 42 games so far this season with the Pacers, and has averaged 6.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
He was one of the best offensive rebounders in the entire league earlier this year when he was getting consistent minutes each and every night. That being said, Frank Vogel has decided to play Scola and Mahinmi ahead of him.
Hopefully this injury heals quickly and Allen is able to get back on the court in the next week. Knee soreness is always a nagging injury for an athlete, so it is definitely something to keep an eye on moving forward.
