So now we come to #5. Yes, those of you that follow my writing obviously know of my dream that Tevin Coleman. I know part of it is obviously an Indiana sports fan’s dream, and in the grand scheme of things, probably won’t happen.

I’ve already espoused why I feel it should shortly after the college football season concluded. Alongside fellow Big Ten running back Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman also set records this season. Now the single season rushing leader for the Indiana Hoosiers, Coleman became the first Hoosier on the gridiron to eclipse 2,000 yards in the history of the program. Gordon had the better stats, no question, but the Colts could certainly do much worse than having Tevin Coleman in their backfield. Coleman was second only to Gordon in rushing yardage for the season with 2,036 yards. However, he did do that in two fewer games.

Much like Gordon, Coleman also displayed the ablity to rack up huge yardage in bunches, with four rushes of 70 yards or more, and three of 60 yards or more. Included in that list was 90 yard touchdown play at Ohio State, something which had never been done before against the Buckeyes.

Could the Colts land the talented local hero? It’s certainly possible. Is it probable? There’s no telling what Ryan Grigson has up his sleeves at this stage.

The Colts certainly have plenty of options while looking for their running back of the future. If they get it right, a dynasty could be on the horizon.
