The Indiana Pacers returned to action Friday night, facing off against the new-look Philadelphia 76ers, after an eight-day absence due to the NBA All-Star break.

It’s worth noting that Philadelphia, in what some would consider “full-tank mode” traded away guards Michael Carter-Williams and KJ McDaniels to the Milwaukee Bucks for center JaVale McGee.

It is also worth noting that the Sixers had Jason Richardson in the starting lineup, which was Richardson’s first dose of action he’s seen in two years.

The Pacers got off to a rather sluggish start the first parts of the game, but all it took was C.J. Miles’ brilliant 14-point performance to lift the Pacers to a 23-16 lead.

For most parts of the first-half, the score may have been a little closer than most fans may have wanted. After all, they were playing the 76ers (whom I’m sure have the average talent of a D-league team).

Then Luis Scola found the Fountain of Youth, knocking down a three-pointer (his fifth on the year) and tacking on a few steals with a beautiful and-one to go along with one of them. This gave the Pacers a 17 point lead at 50-33 with merely four minutes left to go in the 2nd quarter.

Rodney Stuckey had his best performance as a Pacer, scoring 30 points off the bench on 10/16 shooting in 27 minutes of playing time.

But, as fate would have it this season, the injury bug couldn’t get away from the Pacers as Stuckey was injured late in the fourth quarter, in what appeared to be a left ankle injury.

Stuckey is listed as “day to day” and will be further evaluated in the coming days.

However, his remarkable night in the blue and gold was enough to get the Pacers their fourth win in five games defeating the Sixers 106-95.

The Pacers take on Steph Curry and the streaking Golden State Warriors Sunday night.
