Paul George is getting closer and closer to a return as we know it.
With earlier reports of George making his season debut within the next week, more news has emerged regarding the Indiana Pacer’s star’s return and recovery.
This adds to the great news received by Pacers fans earlier this week in terms of George’s long-awaited return to the hardwood after an injury sustained last August while participating in a Team USA basketball scrimmage.
Paul George being able to return by the end of the regular-season would be beneficial to both George and the Pacers. Not only would it give George the opportunity to get used to playing in a full-speed NBA game and get the “adjustment period” out-of-the-way but it would also possibly give the Pacers some firepower and motivation to play for the Playoffs.
However, Larry Bird had this to say about a potential Paul George return this season, per Conrad Brunner of ESPN’s 1070 The Fan:
There has been a lot of “he said/she said” moments in the whole Paul George fiasco over the last few months. While it remains unclear as to when exactly George will make his return to game-action for the first time in almost a year, one thing is certain and that is the notion that we can expect George to be more than ready to take the reigns of the team and lead them to prominence.
