The Indiana Pacers squared off against the Milwaukee Bucks Thursday night. While the Pacers displayed a resilient effort down the stretch, a 19-point first quarter deficit was too much for Indiana to overcome and they fell to the Bucks 111-107.

107. 100. 111. 89. Final

Four of the five Pacers starters scored in double figures and were led in by

C.J. Miles

with 26 points on 7-14 from the floor and

George Hill

with 24 points on 7 of 12 attempts.

David West missed the night’s action with an “allergic reaction”, so Luis Scola picked up West’s starting minutes. Scola finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and a blocked shot.

Apart from C.J. Watson, the bench had a horrific game. Watson accounted for 23 of the bench’s 27 points, and the bench players shot a terrible 1 of 12 from the floor and 1 of 4 from the foul line.

Indiana trailed by as many as 23 in the opening quarter, but two 30-plus-point quarters left Indiana in position to tie the game in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter. Then down 110-107, George Hill’s 3-point attempt nearly went in, but didn’t fall sending Indiana home with its seventh loss in the last eight games. The loss pushes the Pacers a half-game back of the eighth-seeded Boston Celtics.

The next stretch of games pits Indiana against the other Eastern Conference teams who are jockeying for the final playoff seeds. If the Pacers hope to make the playoffs this year, the time to win is now.
