Pacers Need To Keep An Eye On Kevin Love
The injury to Paul George really set the Pacers back a season, and in doing so, wasted one of David West‘s final years in my opinion. David West is heading towards the end of his career…and it shows…with him averaging 12 points a game, his worst total since his 2nd season in the NBA.
The Pacers should have plenty of young options to replace West in the NBA draft, with the likes of Trey Lyles, Montrezl Harrell, Bobby Portis, Kevin Looney and Frank Kaminsky possibly being available when the Pacers select.
As far as Kaminsky goes, there’s just something that scares me, a la Eric Montross, Adam Morrison & Christian Laettner. Not to mention, the Pacers went down that road when they selected Tyler Hansbrough back in 2009. That leads me to a guy the Pacers should target……Kevin Love.

Many thought that when Cleveland landed Love in the off-season, it would be the beginning of another Lebron James “Big 3” for years to come. However, there has been some tension in Cleveland.
Many reports have said that Kevin Love simply isn’t fitting in with his Cavaliers teammates. Love has been benched in the 4th quarter in favor of Tristan Thompson on plenty of occasions, and has even been called out by Lebron himself. All of a sudden the “Big 3” in Cleveland could turn into the “Big 2” with just Lebron and Kyrie Irving.
If Love were to leave the Cavs, the Pacers should pounce. The Pacers could use a talent like Love to pair with Paul George. Love is an excellent rebounder and can also stretch the floor and the power forward position, clearing the lane for Paul George and Roy Hibbert. Love also has a solid low post game.

Adding Love would also mean the Pacers would need to move on from David West. Love would replace West moving forward, and the Pacers get a power forward for the future. Many believe the Pacers need a point guard to get over the hump, but if George Hill continues to play at the level he has, the Pacers will be just fine.
Love would give Indiana an All-Star power forward to pair with Paul George, and give the Pacers a dynamic duo for years to come.
There’s no certainty Kevin Love will want out of Cleveland, but if he does, Larry Bird and the Indiana Pacers would be wise to give him a call.
Kevin Love is currently averaging 16.6 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers.
