You’ll notice point guard is a theme, as I still feel the Pacers could use a better signal caller, and allow George Hill to be the scoring guard that he is.

Brandon Knight was just acquired by the Suns at the trade deadline last year, in a multi-team deal that sent Goran Dragic to the Heat. Though the Suns may not be ready to give up on Knight so quickly, I didn’t believe he really fit in with the Suns.

Phoenix often allowed Eric Bledsoe to handle the ball, while Knight went and stood in the corner. Though the Suns like to get up and down the court, their two point guard offense really struggled in the half court…more-so with Knight than with Dragic.

The Suns need to start adding more complimentary pieces around Bledsoe (as the team’s main point guard), and adding the Pacers 11th pick, to go with their pick at 13, should allow them a quick start at doing just that.

Ultimately I think the Suns made the Knight trade so they wouldn’t lose Dragic for nothing in free agency. A lottery pick would be nice compensation.
