Pacers Sign Monta Ellis Despite the Kings Efforts

The Indiana Pacers landed their prize target, shooting guard Monta Ellis. He signed following a two year stint with the Dallas Mavericks. Last season Ellis was the first player not named Dirk Nowitzki to lead the Mavericks in scoring since the 1999-00 season.

The Pacers inked Ellis to a 4-Year, $44 million deal after a tenuous 24-hours of free agency. Why was it tenuous? Allow me to set the scene and recap the 24 hour journey that led to Ellis’ signing. When viewing the events through social media, the quest to sign Ellis was as almost as much of a roller coaster ride as a Summer blockbuster.
