Cody Zeller – Charlotte Hornets

Zeller is another player I mentioned as a possible trade target for the Pacers…if they were thinking of trading their 1st round pick. Instead the Pacers selected Myles Turner (which looks like a good move so far), but Zeller may still be on the market.

The Hornets traded another IU power forward in Noah Vonleh to Portland, to acquire Nic Batum, but they selected Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky with their first round pick in the draft. Kaminsky is seen as a stretch big, and Charlotte has two more on the roster with Marvin Williams and Spencer Hawes, whom they acquired in the Lance Stephenson trade to the Clippers.

Zeller showed he could get up and down the floor during his time with the Hoosiers, often beating opposing big men for easy buckets.

It’s unclear what the Hornets would want for him, or if he’s even still on the market, but the Pacers could use some of their cap space to bring home another Hoosier.
