I believe the Colts will work out a deal with Hilton in the end because he is such a vital part of the team’s young core. Yes, Dorsett is a clone of Hilton, but if you were Grigson would you choose one over the other? Remember, Andre Johnson is will only remain with the Colts for a year or two at most. The idea of having two receivers who can blow the top off a defense while the big-bodied receivers like Donte Moncrief, Duron Carter and TEs Fleener and Allen picking apart the defense underneath is a dream scenario for Luck and offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton. If I’m Ryan Grigson, I want Hilton and Dorsett and on the roster in 2016 and beyond.

We can only hope that both sides work out a mutually beneficial deal. Much of this will be based on how Hilton performs in a contract year in a loaded receiving corps. It is better for the Indianapolis Colts to get a deal done now before they have to address the remaining contracts next season. If the Colts gamble and wait until the next offseason to see what his value is on the open market it could be too high of a price and too late for them to match any offers.
