Indiana College Football: A Game for Each Week
September 19: Franklin v. Anderson
In a different way, Franklin will be looking to continue their successes of last year into this year and part of that comes in the form of another victory against Anderson.
Last year, the Grizzlies pounded Anderson by a score of 62-14 in Anderson, and with the game coming at home this time around Franklin fans will hope for much of the same. The Grizzlies open the year with an exhibition match against Depauw before their season officially starts on September 5th at home against Illinois Wesleyan, a game they lost last year in Illinois by a score of 42-35.
Franklin will be fitting a trip to Butler in between the Ill. Wesleyan and Anderson games, but will be building momentum for that first conference game.
September 26: Butler v. Campbell
Butler did not enjoy as much success as they should have last year finishing 4-7 with a 2-6 conference record, but has plenty of opportunities to turn things around including this revenge matchup against Campbell.
Last season the Bulldogs fell to Campbell, 28-9, in Buies Creek, North Carolina, but will be hosting the Camels this time around and to top it all off, it’s Homecoming weekend at the Butler Bowl.
The Bulldogs were picked to finish 5th in preseason polls by the Pioneer Football League’s coaches, and upcoming opponent University of San Diego were tipped to win. However, the game against Campbell gives head coach Jeff Voris a chance to turn things around and start the conference season off with a bang.
