October 17: St. Joseph v. McKendree

The St. Joe’s Pumas welcome McKendree University to town on October 17th in Rensselaer, Indiana at Alumni Stadium. This game is the second of two straight home games for the Pumas, following a matchup with Lincoln University of Missouri coming the week prior.

Another conference matchup that went St. Joe’s way last year, they are set to keep the streak alive this time around. The Pumas beat McKendree in Lebanon, IL last year by a close score of 35-33 and will be taking advantage of the home crowd this season.

After finishing 8-3 last season, St. Joe needs to repeat a similar victory line from last year and although they will already be battle tested heading into this matchup, they will have to be weary that this is their second-to-last home game before the season wraps up in November.

October 24: Indiana State v. North Dakota State

The Indiana State Sycamores welcome North Dakota State to town in late October in another conference matchup, and one that is also available on ESPN3.

The Sycamores failed to come away with a victory over their conference foes last year in North Dakota, but despite the 34-17 loss will keep their hopes high on a win. This game comes a week after a Homecoming matchup against Southern Illinois and just before a trip to Illinois State on Halloween, so a result in this game is crucial if they want to improve upon last year’s 8-6 record.

Indiana State fans will have a good idea of what their team looks like at this point after games against Butler and Purdue to start the year before a number of conference games, but have no reason to believe that things can’t get better for this season.
